Queen Nefertiti, Icon of beauty

Queen Nefertiti: Her name means “the beautiful woman has come” and she was also called the Lady of the Two Lands. She was the wife of King Akhenaten, who ruled in the 14th century BC.

Queen Nefertiti participated with her husband in the worship of the new god Aten, the power of the sun disk, and she and her husband were the mediators between the people and Aten. She was considered one of the most powerful women in ancient Egypt. She was Tutankhamun’s mother-in-law and helped him take over the kingdom.

Queen Nefertiti is famous for the bust of her depicted face, carved on a piece of limestone. It is one of the most finest pieces of art from ancient Egypt.

الملكة نفرتيتي 

يعنى اسمها “الجميلة أتت” كما تم تسميتها سيدة الأرضين. كانت زوجه للملك إخناتون، الذي حكم في القرن الرابع عشر ق.م 

شاركت الملكة نفرتيتي زوجها في عبادة الإله الجديد آتون، قوة قرص الشمس، وكانت هي وزوجها الوسيط بين الشعب وآتون، وكانت تعد من أقوى النساء في مصر القديمة. وكانت حماة توت عنخ آمون وساعدته علي تولي المُلك 

اشتهرت نفرتيتي بالتمثال النصفي لوجهها المصور والمنحوت على قطعة من الحجر الجيري وهي واحدة من أروع القطع الفنية من العصر القديم
